Editor’s Note:

Despite due diligence inquires and research, very little data has been located for this mass shooting. There appears to be two reasons for this. First, law enforcement transparency in 1982 was limited to nonexistent. Second, this mass shooting predated civilian use of the Internet, meaning this case probably exists/existed solely on hard copy records. With few exceptions, records in the physical possession of a municipal, county, state, and/or federal agency are subject to the Freedom of Information Act. However, these records can still be difficult to access. They are often unindexed and archived in cardboard boxes and stored in attics, basements, and warehouses. Also, agencies do not have to, and often don’t, retain indefinitely all records which are created by or submitted to them. Please consult the applicable governmental legal requirements.
