Audio Files
The mass shooting on June 12, 2016, that occurred at the Pulse, a gay bar, dance club, and nightclub in Orlando, Florida, where 49 people were killed and 53 others injured is best known for it being a documented terrorist attack, the slow police response, and the fact that it wasn’t the target of choice for the perpetrator—he originally had his “sights” set on Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
—These audio files have been independently verified by official government sources as being authentic.
—All of these audio files have been tagged by government officials as having been redacted. This generally only means that callers who stated their name and/or other identifying information has been deleted for privacy reasons. Generally, redaction in these cases results in a beep or tone being inserted where the identifying information was. Generally, this is not an attempt to withhold information or be less than completely transparent.
