Only Nitwits Advocate Banning Guns

A gun is an inanimate object. Meaning it’s not endowed with a life and spirit and it lacks consciousness and the power of motion. So why is it we so fear guns? It’s because people endow them with life and spirt, make them conscious and full of motion, and they perpetrate horrible crimes with them. We can try to ban guns until the cows come home, but until we fix our serious people problem we haven’t done s–t. Oh, I know, you say we can’t fix the people problem, and you’re right about that. This country is bursting with sickos and more are sliding into that condition everyday. So, you say, we’ll ban guns (meaning problem people can’t get one) as our solution. The problem is, there is approximately 430 million guns within our borders as of the last count, and any Tom, Dick, or Harry (or Betty, Mary, or Sue) who wants one can get one (or two or three), regardless of them being banned. According to The Violence Project database, which is supported by the National Institute of Justice (NIJ), “… 77 percent of those who engaged in mass shootings purchased at least some of their guns legally … .”

So, if we can’t effectively ban guns, which we can’t, and we can’t fix our people problem, which we can’t, what do we do?

We have to be realistic. We have to focus on something that we can do. Because, do you really think banning guns will keep them out of the hands of an increasing population of sickos?

Not a chance.

So then, we must do the only thing that has proven to be successful—learn from past mass shootings and harden all our venues. Soft Targets and Crowded Places (ST-CP) offers a multitude of solutions to do just that. Peruse this website with a fine tooth comb and you’ll find the solutions. And our Preventable Mass Shootings Database analyzes in depth dozens of previous mass shootings, and for those we’ve accurately identified as being preventable, we’ve succinctly pinpointed what caused them, meaning what went wrong which enabled them to happen. Also, check out our eBook that is packed with solutions, including those tailored specifically to individual venues.

Unlike a lot of endeavors, Soft Targets and Crowded Places (ST-CP) doesn’t just report on mass shootings, you know, tell you what happened like the news does or provide you with a wealth of statistics like all the other mass shooting databases. Soft Targets and Crowded Places (ST-CP) strives to help society, the systems, and the venues to learn.
